Wellington, FL (January 26, 2018) – Premier Equestrian, known as a leading manufacturer of arena footing and dressage arenas, has been a key sponsor of the renowned Adequan Global Dressage Festival for long enough to recognize the competitors that return every year in hopes of achieving even greater success than they did the year before. This year, Premier Equestrian presented the Premier Equestrian Award to Michael Klimke, a Grand Prix rider and trainer who annually travels from Germany for the winter show in Wellington, Florida.

The Premier Equestrian Award was established by the company to honor those riders who demonstrate admirable sportsmanship, strong work ethics, and devotion to their horses, even throughout the high-pressure dressage show series. After Klimke incurred an injury while riding in the 2017 Adequan Global Dressage Festival – forcing him to sit out of following shows – he returned this winter more determined than ever to achieve high scores.

“I’m happy to be back here in Wellington at the Global Dressage Festival. I’m showing three horses in the CDI – Harmony’s Diabolo, Lemony’s Nicket, and Royal Dancer 33,” said Klimke. He is competing his own Royal Dancer 33 in the Grand Prix, while showing Harmony Sporthorses’ Harmony’s Diabolo and Lemony’s Nicket in the Small Tour.

To Klimke, getting back in the saddle after things don’t go as well as planned is just part of being a true equestrian. “I was born into a family of equestrians in Germany – my father, my mother, my sister, everybody rode. I began as a pony rider. I started with falling off, like I think almost everybody starts,” Klimke laughed. “You have to fall a couple of times to really learn. Last year here I broke my finger and my arm, but so far everything is going well this year, and I hope I at least stay on,” he joked.

Premier Equestrian was proud to reward Klimke’s good sportsmanship and hard work throughout his career with a silver trophy and commemorative Premier Equestrian Award ribbon. “I’m thankful to Premier Equestrian,” said Klimke, referring to the award as well as the dressage arenas that the company provides for the Adequan Global Dressage Festival. “I must say that the circumstances are perfect here at this show. The footing is good and the arenas are set up very well, so I really enjoy it here in both the national and international rings. As a rider or as a horse, you can’t complain.” To see more follow this link https://youtu.be/D1QLVlm6CcU.
