Premier Equestrian Helps Horses Find their Bravery at the Tryon International Equestrian Center

Premier Equestrian Helps Horses Find their Bravery at the Tryon International Equestrian Center

Tryon, NC (May 31, 2016) — In its continued dedication to supporting the development of equestrian sports across the United States, Premier Equestrian is proudly sponsoring the Tryon Spring and Summer Series at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in North Carolina. Premier Equestrian is the title sponsor of the 0.80m Jumper Division throughout the hunter/jumper show series.

Premier Equestrian— a leading manufacturer of dressage arenas, world-class arena footing, and revolutionary horse jumps— knows that success is built from the ground up. The company greatly values the progression of riding up the levels, and congratulates competitors who have navigated the 0.80m Jumper Division course so far this Tryon Spring Series.

This month, many professional and amateur riders of all ages competed in the Premier Equestrian 0.80m Jumper Division to win blue ribbons. Division winners included Karen F. Wilber, owner and director of Virginia-based KFW LLC equestrian training stable. Wilber earned her blue ribbon on Grappelli, a seven-year-old Oldenburg mare owned by Gail Sonnenberg. Like many other professionals who use the 0.80m Jumper Division to their advantage, Wilber found the course to be greatly beneficial for the horse’s confidence and overall performance in the long run.

“The courses were friendly and well designed, yet still challenging,” Wilber explained. “I appreciate when shows offer smaller height classes because it helps me build confidence not only with new riders but also with nervous or cautious horses. My ride, Grappelli, was a circuit champion in the High Adult Jumpers at HITS Ocala in 2015, and although she competes at a higher level, she likes to have trips in the smaller ring to help her feel brave. It is wonderful when horse shows offer these confidence building opportunities.”

This is Wilber’s first time showing at the Tryon International Equestrian Center since its inception in 2014, and Wilber has been entirely impressed with her experience so far. “The most memorable thing about Tryon is the overwhelming helpfulness of the staff. I have never met a single person who didn’t have a smile on their face; everyone genuinely seemed to be enjoying their job. The show is worth every minute and we will definitely be back this summer to show,” she said.

Premier Equestrian is proud to continue its support of horse and rider combinations of all levels as they compete in the Premier Equestrian 0.80m Jumper Division. Whether it’s a professional rider building up their prospect, or a young student’s first course, Premier Equestrian extends its support in all equestrian’s competitive endeavors.

Premier Equestrian is proud to be a part of the Tryon Spring and Summer Series at the Tryon International Equestrian Center. Premier Equestrian not only enhances the show community with such sponsorship, but also personally produces products for all disciplines at its Sandy, Utah base. The company produces premium quality arena footing, picturesque dressage arenas, innovative horse jumps, and additional educational tools for all. Premier Equestrian Discontinues Sale and Distribution of GGT Footing

Premier Equestrian Discontinues Sale and Distribution of GGT Footing

Sandy, UT (May 20, 2016) — Premier Equestrian, the Official Footing Supplier of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), has announced the company is discontinuing the sale and distribution of GGT products. Premier Equestrian’s team of global footing experts provide customers with extensive knowledge of riding surfaces, while always keeping the horse’s well being as the top priority.

Premier Equestrian, which had been North America’s largest distributor of GGT arena footing products, has spent the past 2 years specifically researching the biomechanics of riding surfaces and has been working on developing advanced high performance footing that meet the criteria of the latest footing research findings. With the goal of promoting the horse’s optimum health and performance, Premier Equestrian has chosen to no longer distribute German Geo Textile (GGT) footing.

“The very latest and quite possibly the best footing research available at this time comes from a study commissioned by the FEI,” states Mark Neihart, CEO of Premier Equestrian. “That study, called the FEI Equine Surfaces White Paper, validated much of our in-house research and added to our knowledge base. The study also confirms some of the concerns our team has had about GGT footing products.

Premier Equestrian has formulated all their footing products prioritizing the characteristics outlined in the FEI Equine Surfaces White Paper, specifically firmness, cushioning, rebound, and grip. “These are the elements we measure all footings by,” says Neihart, “With that in mind, we have decided to replace our GGT offering with our newly reformulated ProTex® Arena Footing. This move was made with the goal of assuring the health of our customers’ horses, provide the market with a superior alternative to GGT, and continue our reputation of providing high-quality products at reasonable prices.”

“The one thing about GGT is that it is widely used, giving us a very solid history of its performance, both good and bad. Our products ArenaAid® and Master’s Blend® specifically were developed to address GGT’s tendency to create a very hard surface and its’ requirement to use very specific and expensive sand,” Neihart said.

Premier Equestrian has been a leading provider of arena footing for the past decade. In pursuit of the ideal arena surface Premier Equestrian has compiled extensive footing research data from top trainers, farriers, veterinarians, and biomechanical engineers. The goal is to promote the health and longevity of all equine athletes. The materials used to create Premier Equestrian’s footing products are rigorously tested in their in-house research lab. The company takes a scientific approach to sand gradation and textile additives to create arena surfaces that enhance the performance and health of the horse. As equestrian themselves, Premier’s team also tests their footings on their own horses, making their motivation and quest for the best, a very personal goal.

For equestrians who are considering upgrading their footing, Premier Equestrian is working to make the transition very cost effective. “We are currently developing an incentive program for our customers who have purchased GGT in the past and want to upgrade to the next level of footing,” says Neihart. He also points out that Premier Equestrian offers free consultation and sand analysis reports to help our customers choose the optimum riding surface.

For people who want to know more about the science behind footing, Premier Equestrian has produced a video called How Arena Surfaces Affect Horse Biomechanics. The video has quickly become a must watch, explaining how an ideal arena surface allows a horse to move efficiently through every phase of footfall. The video’s easy-to-understand animations describe how surface characteristics — firmness, cushioning, rebound, grip, and cupping – work together to minimize concussion, absorb shock, provide support, and return energy back to the horse. Equestrians are encouraged to watch the video at http://premierequestrian.com/category/Horse-Arena-Footing.html.

Premier Equestrian strives to help all equestrians understand differences in arenas and footing surfaces. “We do it for the horse,” Neihart says with a smile. Temecula, CA (May 5, 2016) — “Premier Equestrian is more than a footing company and supplier of jumps— they are truly passionate about horses, which is very important to me,” said U.S. 2015 Pan American Games Eventing team alternate Tamra Smith. To Premier Equestrian, being passionate about horses is of utmost importance. That’s why the company proudly sponsors equestrians who compete at high levels, share their knowledge to better serve the industry, and positively impact equestrian culture though pronounced sportsmanship. Premier Equestrian, the innovative manufacturer of equestrian arenas, arena footing, and jumps, is proud to proclaim Tamra Smith as the newest “Premier Equestrian,” and sponsored rider.

Top-level eventing rider Tamra Smith’s steady drive and ambition to excel in the sport is what first stood out to Premier Equestrian. She was the Area VI Rider of the Year for two consecutive years, and works tirelessly towards her long-term goal of representing the United States in the Olympics, World Equestrian Games, or Pan American Games. Smith was also awarded a U.S. Olympic grant to compete on the Nations Cup teams at the Boekelo CCI3* in the Netherlands, and she contributed to the U.S. team Gold medal at the 2014 Jaguar Land Rover Bromont CCI*** in Quebec, Canada.
