Sandy, UT (November 3, 2016) — As partial owner of the 22-acre San Diego training and boarding facility Arroyo Del Mar, USDF Gold Medalist Shannon Peters knows that a high-end riding surface is only achievable through proper maintenance and careful grooming. Different arena surfaces require different degrees of maintenance, and keeping the facility’s eight turnouts, two round pens, large jumper ring, and competition-sized dressage arena properly groomed is no simple task. “At Arroyo Del Mar, we have many arena groomers – one that works for dirt/sand, one for rubber-type footing, and one for fiber,” explained Peters. “None of these could be used for all surfaces, and until the Premier Pro Groomer came along, we were constantly changing groomers to complete the daily jobs.”
An industry leader in providing outstanding arena footing and equipment, Premier Equestrian designed its new Premier Pro Groomer with all of the features necessary to maintain a large professionally-run facility like Arroyo Del Mar. This highly efficient, versatile, and easy-to-operate arena groomer has quickly become a favorite among arena managers for its ability to handle the maintenance of almost any surface type and to meet the needs of all disciplines, including hunter/jumper, dressage, and western. The Premier Pro Groomer will perform heavy compaction or delicate grooming, is perfect for all types of footing, and is safe for base, landscape liners, and base mats. The new Premier Pro Groomer and Premier Mini Pro Groomer were both unveiled this past summer at The Event at Rebecca Farm held in Kalispell, Montana. Premier Equestrian provided Rebecca Farm with its own brand-new units of both models to ensure that an ideal riding surface was maintained for all competitors throughout the event. Those who attended The Event at Rebecca Farm saw firsthand how the use of these highly advanced groomers – which can perfectly finish a surface in one pass – dramatically increased the consistency in footing from the first to last competitor without disrupting the flow of the competition.
“The Premier Pro Groomer is a game changer and provides us with a groomer that can do it all, saving time and giving us the best possible surface to ride on,” said Shannon Peters, who recently upgraded to the Premier Pro Groomer to better meet the demands of Arroyo Del Mar’s large facility.
An extremely versatile piece of equipment, the Premier Pro Groomer contains all the features you’ll ever need for mixing, maintaining, and perfecting your arena surface. The three-point swivel hitch lets the groomer track and swivel behind the tractor, enabling large tractors and units to get into tight spaces while preventing the surface from bunching, moving, or piling in the corners. Front and rear rollers ensure that the tine depth stays stationary, eliminating the chance of tines digging too deep into the surface. The double rollers also aid in extra compaction when needed. The Pro is equipped with two rows of S-tines and two rows of coil tines. All four rows of tines can be used at the same time or independently, and each row has an adjustable depth. Turnbuckles allow the tines to raise and lower independently, while securing their position. Tines can be rotated 90 degrees to accommodate ripping and lifting, or angled back for finishing and fluffing. Finally, the smoothing bar, which is used for leveling and additional compaction, may be rotated 45 degrees to change the angle of the plate or set at different depths to change the compaction of the surface.
“The easily accessible adjustments make the groomer extremely versatile,” said Peters. “Because of its ability to swivel at the 3-point connection, we no longer have ridges or footing banked up on the corners. This has provided us with a truly consistent and level riding surface.”
Available in 6’, 7’, or 8’ widths, the Premier Pro Groomer contains more features than competing models, saving users both time and money. The Premier Mini Pro Groomer has all of the same great features as the Premier Pro, but in a compact lighter-weight version designed to be pulled with smaller equipment without a 3-Point hitch. The Premier Mini Pro is available in 5’ or 6’ widths, and a tow-behind hitch allows the groomer to be pulled with a small tractor, UTV, or Side-by-Side possessing 27 HP or more.
