Why is it so important to have the right sand?

  • Surfaces that are too hard do not aid in shock absorption and the sharp impact can hurt the joints and bones of your horse.
  • Surfaces that are too loose or soft do not provide enough support, so your horse will overextend and damage its tendons and ligaments.
  • Surfaces that are ideal will provide enough support for stability, but will also be soft enough to absorb the impact.

Not sure what you need? Send us a sample of your sand and our experts will test it to determine which footing additive is best for your horse. Your first sand report is free!
